Whitler pleads not Guilty
By Stephanie Mitchell

In a follow up to my article posted in September, I wanted to let my fellow process servers and private investigators know that James Whiltler, the Loveland, Colorado man who has been accused of killing Stepen Allen, a 57-year-old server from Fort Collins, pled-not guilty today in the Larimer County District Court.

In a hearing earlier this month, A Larimer County Sheriff Sgt. John Feyen testified that James Whitler beat Stephen Allen approximately 15 to 20 times with a baseball bat and then stabbed him. Allen died of blunt force trauma to the head.

Trial has been set for February. If convicted, James Whitler faces first-degree murder charges in the May 28 death of Stephen Allen as well as two counts of attempted first-degree murder charges for stabbing and choking his children in the family's home that same day.
