Weekly Briefing 032420

This week, we’re being good global citizens and sheltering in place — and shooting the editor’s message from home.

In this home-shot video briefing, I’m sharing the ways we at Pursuit and PI Education are proceeding as normal, and the ways we’re adapting to this extraordinary moment.

Here are a few things we want you to know:

  1. WEBINAR: Tomorrow (Thursday) at 11:30am CDT, we’ll host our monthly webinar on the March topic, criminal defense investigations, with attorney Allison Clayton as our guest. Here’s a link to join.
  2. VIRTUAL HAPPY HOUR: Tomorrow evening at 5:00 CDT, you’re invited to another virtual happy hour for the PI community. Here’s that link.
  3. SURVEY: We’ve created a survey asking private investigators how they’re weathering this emergency. Answer it by midnight on 3/31, and we’ll share the results in Pursuit. We hope this will let PIs exchange ideas about getting through this and planning for the future. (Click the image below to fill out the survey.)

Last, we’re planning to keep to our editorial calendar as scheduled, despite … well, everything. Next month’s topic is surveillance. Send us your story ideas for all things surveillance related: tips and tricks, best vehicles, favorite tech, crazy stories from the field, reality checks, how NOT to do it, or anything that strikes you as relevant to the profession.

And now for the homemade weekly briefing video. Do not expect this product to be seamless. Do, however, expect it to be sincere. —Hal
