Tracers Information Specialists (TracersInfo.com) Raises Rates
I received the following notice today from Tracers Info president regarding rate hikes on their database and information broker services. Unfortunately, they are raising their “membership fee” 50%, which will certainly be a deal breaker with some of their current clients and will not be a good deal for lower volume private investigation agencies and skip tracers; their membership fee is in addition to the information searches and data clients already buy, unlike other service providers who will apply their monthly fee to monthly minimum database purchases instead.

For over thirteen years, our staff has worked diligently to reduce our operating costs while continuing to maintain the superior product and service quality that you have come to expect from Tracers.
In this tough economic climate everyone is affected, including us. Unfortunately, fixed overhead expenses have increased, along with increased costs related to data, compliance and security, which are beyond our control. Even so, client satisfication and strong competitive pricing will always remain our top priority. While our prices remain competitive, beginning March 1, 2009 we will be adjusting our monthly membership fee from $12.95 to $19.50. In addition, the price of our premium people searches will increase from $1 to $1.50, and our basic people search to 75ยข. Although these adjustment reflect a slight increase, Tracers remains to be the leading value for superior data in our industry.
As a measure of our continuing effort to provide you with the highest quality, lowest priced products available, we are lowering the price of our ePeople search to $1.00. To increase the value of the products whose prices we have increased, the ePeople search is automatically included in all standard and premium people searches, and each search result will now contain “flags” to let you know when possible hits for other types of searches, like criminal record searches, and wants and warrants searches, among others, are found. We’ve also upgraded our site to make it more user-friendly, efficient and easy-to-navigate.

I have found Tracer’s customer support to be less than satisfactory. I hope they use this extra money to improve their service!
