Weekly Briefing 052620

Wrapping up a month of elder abuse and fraud coverage and announcing next month’s theme:

We’re wrapping up a month of coverage about elder care, abuse, and fraud. We shared an introduction to types of elder abuse, adapted from Kelly Riddle’s book about investigating nursing home abuse claims. We interviewed a family attorney about steps to take if you suspect abuse.

This week we’ll publish interviews with Kim Ridding, an investigator with an illuminating story of an elder fraud case she worked, and Amy Peterson, a trust officer who offers tips about protecting a loved one from financial exploitation.

Coming up on Thursday, May 28 is our monthly webinar. We’re hosting Kelly Riddle, owner of Kelmar Global and author of Nursing Home Abuse Investigations. He’ll share his wisdom and experience from decades of investigating abuse claims in long-term care facilities. Click here to join the webinar at 11:30am CDT.

Also, in the briefing, we introduce next month’s theme: origin stories.

How did you become a private investigator? We can’t wait to hear your origin stories.
