Editor’s Briefing 3.9.21

This month we’re looking back on our pandemic year, reflecting on its lessons, and asking for your insights.

Last week, our managing editor Kim Green wrote an essay/editor’s message reflecting on the hard-won lessons of this difficult year, including a look back at our March 2020 survey responses, and some insights about how we define success — and how that may have changed over the past 12 months. “On a scale of 1-10, how much do you care now about climbing a career ladder, after a year of forced reminders of how tenuous and fleeting all this actually is?” she wrote. “And how many f***s do you really give at this point about whether anyone is impressed with your house, your car, your designer shoes, or your professional title?”

You may have a different take on what a global pandemic and recession have to teach us about what we value. We hope you’ll share your own insights. Please take 5 minutes to fill out our brief 2021 survey about how your business has fared since March 2020, the challenges you’ve faced, and how you’ll survive and adapt going forward.

We’ll close the survey at midnight on March 26, then compile and share the results in early April. Thanks in advance for your help! Please share the survey link with any of your colleagues who might like to take part.
